PROGRAM DETAILS
2 DAY WORKSHOP

 

This two day program is for pairs of teachers who are working collaboratively to support each other with instructional practice. You will learn how to work in partnership and move to a professional relationship that enables rigour and challenge and that supports your learning. 


This practice based program will include: 

  • Exploring concepts of relationships, conversation, learning and feedback which underpin a process to focus on inquiring about teaching practice

  • A brief introduction to coaching and the GROWTH model

  • Bringing skills of listening, questioning and paraphrasing to conversations about practice

  • Exploring a model to make meaning of classroom observation data

  • Demonstration of a data based coaching conversation using the GROWTH model

  • Practice conversations

  • Summary and next steps

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

 

Gray Ryan is the Managing Consultant for Growth Coaching International (GCI) in Victoria. He is an experienced coach and coach trainer with an extensive background in educational leadership. He has been a secondary school principal, senior education officer and regional network leader responsible for leading and managing a network of primary, secondary and specialist schools. He has highly developed leadership skills and is widely acknowledged for his success in building leadership capacity in others.

 

Chris Munro is a Senior Consultant with Growth Coaching International (GCI) in Victoria. He has extensive experience of supporting and leading the development of teachers and school leaders in Government and Independent schools and in Higher Education. The leadership of professional learning strategy and the development of school coaching models have been key aspects of his most recent school roles in Australia. Chris is an experienced coach and facilitator and has presented at a number of major conferences in the UK and Australia.
